Job Description:




Inspect assigned work areas and perform duties necessary to insure the proper upkeep of buildings, and report discrepancies to the immediate supervisor.


Repair or replace worn or damaged floors, ceilings, doors, traverse rods, stair treads, door closures, lock as necessary.


Perform preventive maintenance on all Health Center roofs to include, but no limited to, roof membrane, insulation and flashing inspections, destructive and non-destructive moisture tests. And repair and replacement of any defect within work scope.


Inspect all mechanical/electrical equipment in machine rooms, penthouses and basements for proper operation.


Read, interpret and work from construction blueprints and renovation drawings. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.


Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Make emergency repairs to pumps, motors, compressors, valves, plumbing pipes and fixtures, and all mechanical components throughout the Health Center.


Perform building refurbishing to include new ceilings, walls, doorways, masonry work, case workinstallation and carpentry work. Provide support services to all other trades as may be required for timely and efficient repair of buildings and equipment.


Inspects all electrical doors, elevators and reports condition to work control.


Operate University of Florida vehicles that requires a valid driver license.



A criminal background and post- offer health assessment will be conducted.




Hours and workdays may vary based on 4-10 hour work shifts and may include weekends. Work days and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage. Some overtime may be required.







Advertised Salary:

Expected starting salary is $17.00 - $19.00 hourly based on experience.



Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.



Preferred Qualifications:


Must have experience in multiple trades.
