Job Description:

University of Florida Performing Arts seeks an experienced professional to supervise stage technical operations, with primary responsibility for overall technical supervision of UFPA venue stages, their equipment and rigging systems. Specific responsibilities include the following:

+ Provides advance and on-site communication as needed with visiting event personnel to coordinate technical requirements. Synthesizes and distributes information regarding event requirements.

+ Coordinates and implements technical requirements for events in UFPA venues, reviewing event specifications and participating in planning meetings. Develops work plans for stage and fly systems.

+ Secures resources (personnel, materials, equipment and services) as required for events.

+ Provides overall and direct supervision of stage/technical aspects of events on site as assigned.

+ For events as assigned, provides written reports of progress of event work, per shift supervised.

+ Tracks and reports to Operations Director the expenses for technical production of events.

+ Manages OPS technical stage employees. Develops and implements training for safe and effective work practices; documents practices and training; ensures use of safe and effective work practices.

+ Manages the organization, upkeep and maintenance of UFPA stages, support spaces and equipment.

Advertised Salary:

$42,000, commensurate with experience

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and six years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with performance event production in facility(ies) of similar type and size.

+ Knowledge of and demonstrated competence with industry standard equipment and work methods relevant for area of supervision, including computer-aided drafting and related software.

+ Capacity for strenuous manual labor with industry standard equipment, materials, and methods, which will include work at significant heights with appropriate safety equipment.

+ Training and certification (if available) specific to area of supervision.
