Job Description:

Provides informational service in person, by telephone, or by email to students, the university community, and the general public by evaluating and responding to inquiries concerning academic records and university policy. The customer service team serves as the official reception for all Registrar patrons who walk or call in. Answers multi-line telephone system. Assists with student enrollment and registration including contacting and advising students regarding their options.

Assists the University Registrar Services Coordinator III and Associate University Registrar with managing the daily activities in the area. Serves as a primary trainer for new staff and student employees. Coordinates the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of student employees assigned to the area.

Coordinates the scheduling of counter and phone shifts for both the customer service team and other full time Registrar staff who assist with customer service activities. Continually monitors the phone system and counter area to ensure that we are meeting expected service levels.

Working with the University Registrar Services Coordinator III and Associate University Registrar, coordinates processes to enable appropriate response to subpoenas and public record requests relative to student records.

Assists with the preparation and distribution of academic transcripts, enrollment certifications, and other hardcopy output. Maintains data by adding, updating, and deleting records in an interactive system through the use of computer terminals. Transcribes academic records for former students from an off-line format to an on-line computer system.

Cross-trained to assist in all areas of the office during peak workload periods with processes such as registration, room scheduling, commencement, grade processing, mailroom processing, and imaging. Assists with providing outreach and training to campus wide constituents on Registrar processes and procedures.

Advertised Salary:

$27,562 annually, commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Knowledge of effective written and oral communication; ability to articulate and interpret information.

+ Ability to comprehend and interpret university and registrar policies, procedures and academic regulations.

+ Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relations with others; ability to supervise.

+ Ability to establish work priorities and coordinate the timely completion of work assignments; strong organizational skills.

+ Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
